I tend to delete the activities e-mails but this Parking day thing actually sounds interesting:
PARK(ing) Day is an annual, one-day, global event where artists, activists, and citizens collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spots into "PARK(ing)" spaces: temporary public parks. Anyone can participate, it is strictly a non-commercial project intended to promote creativity, civic engagement, critical thinking, unscripted social interactions, generosity and play.
When: Friday, September 18, 2009
You can be a part of MCAD's PARK(ing) Day project (e-mail megan_leafblad@mcad.edu) or start your own. Registration required to receive donated materials like sod for your space.
